School is almost out for summer but that didn't mean that the students showed any signs of slowing down today. We began our morning with crossword puzzle that had us testing our memories about the topics of recycling, reducing and reusing. Students then continued on to finish up the board games they created around the science topic of "Light and Shadow". They did a fantastic job and had the opportunity to try out the games in the afternoon. It was fun to see them putting their skills to the test with questions cards that asked "What does refraction mean?" or "How does light travel?". We need your votes! The New Brighton Residents Association (NBRA) are currently accepting votes for Neighbor Awards – and New Brighton Grade 1 Students have been nominated for a JUNIOR NEIGHBOR OF THE YEAR AWARD. Their nomination is below: These keen grade one students took initiative to explore the community of New Brighton to uncover the resources and amenities that were currently missing in their community, in hopes of finding ways to improve it. The innovative and inspiring ideas that they presented during the First Annual Resident Symposium melted the hearts of all in attendance. Two of their ideas are currently being explored by the NBRA and the NBCA for implementation. Way to go class!
